The Pilot has a number of features designed to mitigate your carbon footprint, including a highly efficient i-VTEC^® engine with Variable Cylinder Management^®. It also features Honda’s idle-stop system, which prevents excess emissions through idling.

Every Pilot comes with a 280-hp* 3.5-litre, 24-valve, Direct Injection, SOHC, i-VTEC^® V6 engine with 262 lb.-ft. of torque*. And to help every litre go further, the Variable Cylinder Management^® (VCM^®) system is designed to automatically switch between 6 and 3 cylinders, depending on the driving conditions.

The Pilot engine includes a Variable Cylinder Management^® system, which deactivates engine cylinders in certain driving conditions to help improve fuel economy.

Get more out of every litre with the ECON mode button, found on all trims. When you press it, the engine and other non-essential functions are adjusted to help reduce fuel consumption, so you can spend more time on the road.

To reduce unnecessary emissions, the Pilot has Idle Stop, which automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stopped for more than 2 seconds. When you release the brake, the engine automatically restarts. Note that there’s a button to easily disable this feature if desired.
